Perfluorocarbon-based nanoemulsions are promising platforms for the targeted delivery of chemotherapeutic and imaging agents to cancer cells. As part of a collaboration with the Sam Wickline and Paul Schlesinger labs, Biophysics graduate student Sunjoo Lee of the Baker group has performed simulations to understand the basic mechanisms by which nanoemulsion particles transfer their cargo to target bilayers. (Some of Sunjoo's simulations were featured in the Wall Street Journal on September 28th.)

rosati kain

On September 24, 2009, five students with their teachers from the Science Club at Rosati Kain High School came to visit the Burgers lab. They learned first-hand how to carry out electrophoresis of DNA and proteins, and interpret the data.
